Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica!
Arrival to Juan SantamarÃa International Airport. Meet and Greet by our Local Representative and transfer to your hotel Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Best Western Irazu Hotel or similar
Day 2 Poás Volcano National Park & INBioparque
Breakfast in your hotel, followed by departure on Full-day Poás Volcano National Park & INBioparque Tour. Poás Volcano National Park: Poás Volcano is the most visited park in the Costa Rican National Park system. It features two impressive craters: one active and one that holds a lovely Crater Lake. The massive active crater often has sulphuric smoke rising out of the boiling, muddy lake on its bottom, while the beautiful crater lagoon is surrounded by lush cloud forest, with species of birds and plants native to the volcano. INBioparque: This sensory experience combining interpreted nature trails with multimedia technology is located in Santo Domingo de Heredia, only 15 to 20 minutes away from San Jose. The 20 acre park's interpreted trails allow visitors to experience living samples of Costa Rica's native ecosystems: tropical humid forest, tropical dry forest and Central Valley native forest. Overnight at Best Western Irazu Hotel or similar Recommendations for the Caribbean Portion: - What to bring: T-shirts, shorts, a pair of long pants, walking shoes, beach sandals, light jacket, raincoat, repellent, suntan lotion, hat & swim suit. - Luggage restriction: It is recommendable to pack a couple nights overnight bag for the tour to Tortuguero, as clients will be unable to take the bulk of their luggage due to a 25 lb baggage restriction on the boat to Tortuguero.

Day 3 Transfer San José – Tortuguero
Early morning pick up at the hotel in San Jose for the 3 hours ground transfer to dock. Stop en-route at local restaurant for breakfast. 11:00 AM Arrival to the dock; where the boat waits to provide the 2 hours transfer to Tortuguero area. 1:00 PM After two hour boat trip with wildlife viewing possible enroute arrive at the Lodge on time for lunch at the hotel. 3:00 PM After lunch, clients will do a short visit to the Caribbean Conservation Corporation (CCC) small local museum dedicated to the conservation of the Sea Turtles and wildlife in general. A contribution of $1.00 per person is not included on the program cost. Also visit the beach area and the small town of Tortuguero. 5:00 PM Return to hotel for dinner. Day 4 Tortuguero Canals
Breakfast at the lodge Enjoy a hiking or boat trip (1 ½ hours), returning to hotel on time for lunch. TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK It is the most important nesting site in the entire western half of the Caribbean for the green turtle. The leatherback and hawksbill also nest along these beaches. A natural system of canals and navigable lagoons, of great scenic beauty, cross the park from southeast to northwest forming the habitat for seven species of land turtles, the manatee or sea cow and the crocodile. Duration: 1 ½ hours hiking. 3:00 pm Afternoon canal’s boat tour for wildlife observation. Dinner at the Lodge. Day 5 Tortuguero - Arenal Volcano National Park Area
8:00 am Breakfast at the lodge, followed by boat ride back to Dock. 11:00 am Arrival to dock and boarding the bus for transfer back to restaurant for lunch. After lunch, ground transportation to your hotel in Arenal Area. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy hotel’s facilities. Overnight at Montaña de Fuego Hotel or similar

Day 6 Arenal Volcano Area
Breakfast at the hotel; today participants may select one of the following activities: HORSEBACK RIDING TO ARENAL VOLCANO With our healthy and well trained horses, we start this incredible guided tour, from the hotel for 3 hours, crossing rivers and through the trails in the rain forest, enjoying all the views of the San Carlos plains, and the amazing lava paths of the majestic Arenal Volcano. We can see also, monkeys, birds like toucans, turkeys, hawks, falcons etc. HIKING TOUR TO ARENAL VOLCANO A unique experience, guided hiking tour through the rain forest, to spot monkeys, and birds, with a lot of explanations about flora, fauna and the volcano history. This hike will be during 2 hours, around a loop. After that, we will take the bus, to go to the west side of the Arenal Volcano, where according to weather conditions; we can see red lava flows. CANOPY TOUR You will enjoy different platforms where you can see the impressive Canyon of the Arenal River and the extraordinary flora and fauna of the rain forest. You will have the opportunity to see the three kinds of monkeys that live in this zone, toucans, hummingbird, sloths, etc.

Day 7 Transfer Arenal – Central Pacific Area
Breakfast at the hotel. Pick up at the lobby of your hotel for ground transfer from Arenal to your hotel at the beach. Overnight at Punta Leona Hotel or similar

Day 8 Manuel Antonio National Park
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will visit Manuel Antonio National Park. Manuel Antonio National Park (Closed on Mondays): Let an experienced nature guide take you on an informative hike through beautiful Manuel Antonio National Park. Though the main attractions of this park are its two white sand beaches - Espadilla Sur and Manuel Antonio - it also protects coastal rain forest, a mangrove swamp, coral formations and 12 islands that serve as seabird sanctuaries. Your guide will teach you about the park's distinctive plant life and point out some of the resident fauna, which include 109 mammal species -- such as Congos, capuchin and squirrel monkeys, agouti and three-toed sloth -- and 184 species of birds. Day 9 Carara Antonio National Park
After breakfast, early departure to Carara National Park followed by transfer back to San Jose for overnight. Carara National Park: Relatively small in size (4,700 Hectares), the massive importance of Carara stems from its geographical location in a transition area between the Tropical Dry Forest region to the north, and the more humid Pacific Rainforest to the south. Carara has flora and fauna from both ecosystems, and the virgin forest that covers most of the park is the ideal environment for such rare wildlife as the Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao), the Collared Aracari (Pteroglossus torquatos) and monkeys Overnight at Best Western Irazu Hotel or similar
